Informed Consent Policy
Effective Date: [8/12/24]
At Blessed Kambo, the safety, comfort, and understanding of our clients are our highest priorities. This Informed Consent Policy ensures that all clients are fully informed about the nature of Kambo treatments, including the processes, potential risks, benefits, and responsibilities involved. By agreeing to this policy, you confirm that you have read, understood, and voluntarily consent to participate in the treatment.
1. Nature of Kambo Treatments
Kambo treatments are holistic, traditional healing practices rooted in Amazonian traditions. They are not medical procedures and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition. Clients are strongly advised to consult a licensed medical professional before beginning Kambo treatment, particularly if they have pre-existing health conditions.
2. Treatment Process
The Kambo treatment process involves applying Kambo secretion to the skin through small, superficial burns. This allows the bioactive compounds to enter the lymphatic system, initiating detoxification and other physiological effects.
During treatment, you may experience:
Purging (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)
Sweating
Emotional release
These reactions are normal and are considered part of the detoxification process. Swelling or temporary discomfort may also occur and are expected outcomes of the treatment.
3. Disclosure of Health Information
It is essential that clients disclose all relevant medical history, current health conditions, and any medications they are taking before undergoing Kambo treatment.
Contraindications include but are not limited to:
Heart issues
Aneurysms
Pregnancy
Severe mental health disorders
Failure to disclose accurate information may result in cancellation of the session for safety reasons.
4. Realistic Expectations
While Kambo has shown beneficial effects for many individuals, results are not guaranteed and can vary significantly between clients. It is important to approach the treatment with an open mind and realistic expectations, understanding that Kambo is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological care.
5. Risks and Responsibilities
By providing your informed consent, you acknowledge the risks involved in Kambo treatment, including but not limited to physical, emotional, or psychological effects.
You accept full responsibility for your decision to participate.
You agree to hold Blessed Kambo and its practitioners harmless from any outcomes associated with the treatment.
6. Voluntary Consent
This consent is given voluntarily, without coercion, and with the understanding that you may withdraw from the process at any time before the treatment begins.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, we encourage you to ask before proceeding with the treatment.
7. Agreement to Terms
By proceeding with your Kambo treatment, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy in its entirety and agree to the terms outlined above.
